Cardboard Boxes
Cardboard Boxes
Cardboard boxes are great for storing things. Of course, they are not that pretty on the eye balls, but if you need to organize a storage closet, look no further then your regular, brown, cardboard box.
Cardboard boxes are great for storing things in storage closets because they are often many different shapes and sizes. They can be taped shut completely, or left open if it is a box you know you will need to frequently get into. However, if it is your Christmas ornaments, Halloween decorations, or Thanksgiving decorations, then you can put it in a cardboard box, tape it up to seal it, and then keep it locked away until the next year’s festivities!
Cardboard boxes also work great as craft boxes. If you live in a smaller apartment or somewhere where you don’t have enough space to actually have a crafting room or crafting cupboard, you can keep all of your crafty things in a cardboard box! You don’t need to seal the box, so you can access your crafts as often as you need to. It will keep all of your craft things organized and make it so they do not get mixed up with everything else you have going on in your everyday life! Plus, if some paint from your craft box, or some wood finish, or really anything that could stain, spills, then you are not ruining a rug, a cupboard, or anything else of importance. It’s just a cardboard box that you can easily replace by visiting your local grocery store.
Grocery stores give cardboard boxes away essentially to anyone who needs them. The reason for this is because they get all of their groceries shipped in these boxes, and after they are unloaded, they serve no purpose anymore. Typically, they just flatten these boxes and put them into a recycling truck, but if there are customers who want to use them for personal things, grocery stores are typically very accommodating and will provide you with as many as you’d like!
Another place to look for cardboard boxes other than grocery stores is at your work! If you work at an office, you are most likely getting shipped office supplies on a regular basis – or at least your company is! Take a trip to your computer and supplies room to see if any deliveries have been made lately. If they have, as your secretary where they put the boxes that deliveries are made in. It is really the same concept as the grocery store. Once boxes are used to ship in the supplies, again there is no further use for them. This means that if you do not go claim them in order to use them for whatever project or organization remedy that you have planned, then they will be flattened and taken to a recycle truck.
Next time your thinking about the best way to store anything, look no further than a cardboard box. Sure, it may sound simple and old-fashioned, but sometimes, that works out the very best!
