Toy Storage Boxes
Toy Storage Boxes
Many parents become frustrated with what to do with all of those toys their children possess in their homes. They are everywhere, or so it seems, and they find themselves even walking on the toys at times. This is one reason that toy storage boxes have become so popular. The best thing a parent can do when attempting to organize their child’s toys is to casually watch what it is the child really plays with on a daily basis. It is guaranteed that they usually play with their favorites and all those other toys are nothing more than clutter and a big annoyance to the parents and sadly, the toys represent a lot of money that could have been better spent because now look, your money is all over the floor being ignored! Parents get sucked into thinking they will damage little Jason if they remove a percentage of these worthless space robbers from their homes when really they are not only cluttering up the home, they are annoying the children as well, they just can’t communicate it properly to the parents.
Go thru the toys! Donate or trash, what are they really? Now that it is down to a manageable amount look them over and see what you have. Many stores like Target carry racks that house 9 compartments for toys with brightly colored bins. These are great for the matchbox cars, Legos, etc. Toys need to be categorized within the toy storage boxes that are purchased. Thomas trains all in one toy storage box. Barbies in yet another. Don’t purchase huge boxes either because then they simply become dumping grounds for a huge mess of toys. Purchase the toy storage box to meet the need. Baseball cards can fit nicely into a clear shoe box that costs 99 cents. Same with markers and crayons, 99 cents and it will be organized.
The worst thing anyone can do when organizing toys is to purchase toy boxes. Yet again, simply dumping grounds and for sure the parents will find old juice boxes in the bottom of it when they finally do clean it out someday. Even a two year old can be taught to put all their matchbox cars into on storage container, like items, Sesame Street teaches them this, too. It is a matter of getting it all organized and then showing the children how this great new system works and how easy it will be to find and play with their favorite toys.
Regarding crafts, it is never a good idea to leave a large toy storage box full of craft items out for the picking with children. It will be dumped and all over your home in record speed. It is best to keep this particular bin somewhere else where you can give them things from it on a regular basis.
The best thing you can do is to walk into your family room (or wherever your toy zone is) and pretend for one moment that this is the first time you are seeing this home and this room. What do you think now? Right, it’s time to get it organized, now that you can see it clearly.
